The problem is that it can cause a webpage to take up to 2 minutes to load or not even load at all without letting you know what is going on. You can monitor this by putting your pointer over the bottom progress bar of the browser window where you see a page with a moving green color change 'thingie' moving on it, the status will pop up. You can double click this icon to open the phishing options window and click next to "Turn Off Automatic Website Checking". This will turn it off. You can still manually perform this check on any site you go to by clicking the icon and select "Check this Website". Web pages like our Webmaster Contact form are pl (perl) files and take forever to open with this option running. Show the menus in Internet Explorer Applies to all editions of Windows Vista. The menus that were displayed in earlier versions of Internet Explorer are turned off in Internet Explorer 7, but you can turn them back on. To display the menus temporarily 1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer. 2. Press ALT. To display the menus permanently 1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer. 2. Click the Tools button, and then select Menu Bar. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer. 2. Click the arrow to the right of the search box . What can I set in Advanced settings? The Advanced tab contains settings for various Internet Explorer options, organized by category. Most of these settings can be changed elsewhere in Internet Explorer, but you might find it helpful to change them from this central location. If a setting has an asterisk (*) next to it, you will have to close Internet Explorer and restart it before that change will take effect. To change Internet Explorer Advanced settings 1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer. 2. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. 3. Click the Advanced tab.
